Prof. Dr. Halim Hattat

Prof. Dr. Halim Hattat has been working in the area of uro-andrology for over 30 years. He is still practicing and teaching as a professor of Urology in Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University where he is also the Head Of Andrology. He initiated and contributed foundation of many institutions on reproductive and sexual health, in particular on sexual dysfunction, in his faculty, university and around Europe.

In 1978 Dr. Hattat became an associate Professor in the Urology Department, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University. Following his studies in 1984 in the Institute of Urology of London Dr. Hattat founded the Research Center on Sexual Function Disorders in Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University in 1986. 3 years after that in 1989, he became a Professor in the Urology Department, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine. That same year he founded the Center on Family Planning and Sexual Function Disorders in Istanbul University where he still works as the Chairman.

In 1997 he opened Hattat Hospital, the first specialized private uro-andrology hospital of Turkey, and in 2011 Hattat Sexual Wellness that specializes on sexual well being and performance coaching. He organized four International Sexual Medicine Congresses in 1993,1995,1997, 2001 in Istanbul as the President . In the year 2000, he was also the President of the International Congress of European Society of Impotence Research that took place in Barcelona. At last in 2003, he was the Honorary President of ESSM – Congress of European Society of Sexual Medicine. He is the founder of Turkish Andrology Society where he contributed for more than 20 years as the President. Prof. Hattat plays also an important role in the international arena as the co-founder and Member of European School of Andrology and also as the co-founder of European Sexual Dysfunction Alliance- ESDA. In 2002 he founded the non-profit organization “The Family Health Association” to represent ESDA in Turkey. During the 2005 Congress of European Society of SexuaL Medicine in Kopenhagen, he won the first Price for Best Clinical Research on Female Sexual Health. He has many international papers and studies on sexual dysfunction and urological disorders. In the year 2010, his first book “The Road Map of Men” was published and reached thousands of men seeking advices about sexual wellness, sexual performance and a better relationship.
